why do you have to pay a extra £280 over the 1700 you have already paid. never been to one before but cant see why you have to incur this charge

'cause they can.

It is also a way of offering their regular customers a better deal than ones which buy one car every 3 years. The two majors (BCA & Manheim) have really, really, ramped them up in the last year or so even for trade customers.

Just the way it works in auctions - have to take into account all fees to reflect final price.

There was a thread up a couple of days ago - personally speaking it's not worth it but there can always be the bargain you're looking for, it just means you might need to be there for days!!

They are quite expensive frown

Last time I checked these where what BCA generally charged:

Hammer Price Buyers Fee
£500 £234
£1000 £268
£2000 £292
£3000 £310
£4000 £332
£5000 £360
£6000 £382
£7000 £408
£8000 £450
£9000 £489
£10,000 £534

It does vary from branch to branch. Also need to pay for the V5 logbook and any storage/ transportation fees if you can't take it away on the day.

They charge both the buyer and the seller for the service they provide in bringing them together......Always need to account for fees when bidding.....
