Simple:

1) Fill the car, brimming the tank

2) Zero you trip meter before you leave the petrol station

3) Do at least 150 miles of mixed driving

4) Return to the petrol station & brim the tank again

5) Note the quantity of fuel needed to brim the tank recorded on the fuel pump

6) Note the miles recorded on your trip meter

You can then simply calculate the miles per litre.

Or to get the MPG:

1) Divide the litres figure by 4.54609188 to get the imperial gallon figure

2) Take the miles on your tip meter & divide by your imperial gallon figure to get the MPG

Example:

1) Miles on trip meter shows 156 miles

2) Fuel pump shows 28.84 litres delivered to brim the tank

3) 28.84 litres divided by 4.54609188 = 6.3439106 imperial gallons

4) 156 miles divided by 6.3439106 imperial gallons = 24.59 MPG

Simples wink

And you are quite sure its still making the same power?????
A well known mapper hints that the bosch injectors can lose some top end power......

And why keep on about 340bhp and 30mpg, when you get 30 mpg , you are probably only using 75bhp of it !!!

Time to get a Prius Daz.....

I once measred MPG on a motorway journey up to my inlwas in Leeds at 24MPG, which I thought was pretty good (I do have a heavy right foot), and I also measured the MPG during a track day, which was, assuming accuracy on the filling, 9.6 MPG, now I really can't see the value of measuring, it does what it does, and I love driving it. What would I do with the information, sell it? that's never going to happen, cry? I have to many other things to cry about. Why bother, it's a gas guzzler, face it.
