Sports system

Well its on at last,new back boxes from dulfords and may i say it sounds really really nice.Bit of a pig to line up etc,but took my time and got there in the end.Managed to buy some ramps today that the cerb will go upfor 35 sqiud.Got em from a place called trago mills,shame i found em after the event but thats life.Will take her out for a blast tonight and will report back on cabin noise.Oh just a side note the rear rubbers were ok but for added strengh i put a nice wide cable tie around the rubber to give it more support,and it worked a treat

You could have had my dulfords sports exhaust for free - took mine off as it was sapping power. Sounded ok though not too loud.

Cable ties are a must as they hold the hangers nice and tight to the rubbers. Both mine split a few weeks ago just prior to an early morning run but held together perfectly with a 10p piece of strapping.

Raceproved supplied me with polybush exhaust hangers, they are much stronger than the rubber ones, no cable ties or bits of wire required, my exhausts hang perfect

yeah had em on the scooby will do em when i attack under the car later this year.

On a seperate note why do these systems make a power loss?back pressure?

I think its due to bore size and badly formed bends.

the differance between my old cheap sports system and the RP big bore power sports system was 27 BHP

This is the RP big boar system currantly fitted to mine

i also changed mine to poly ones, powerflex do some universal ones that are a good match to the originals, got mine from ebay. i also changed the hangers to bolts

AWWWW Nice,wish i had looked into this a bit more.will run this system for a few years then do the whole thing with the best system i can afford.Spent 1700 squid on scooby system,and hated the sound on it when it aged

Yeah i looked at the hangers.Did take em out thinking you could wind em out and they did'nt go back on so well,so i had to put a bolt in behind,now i have some adjustment;)

The report on system is that it now really does pop en bang,and not bad in cabin,infact very impressed.sounds a bit meaner down low but not silly,all in all a good buy me thinks.

LOL yeah thats the place,am looking into those restoration ramps for the long term jobs,cant decide whether to go the whole hog and spend about a grand on a set or spend 300 squid and make do.ohhhhh its tough at the top;)

Went round the place a few years ago when visiting friends in Mevagissey??? never saw any car related stuff, just signs outside suggesting all Europeans were twts
