RHCP do it again

[Moley RUFC]

What an album from the Chilli's, pretty much every track on "I'm with You" is immense but special mentions to Annie Wants a Baby, Police Station, Factory of Faith, the gorgeous Meet me at the Corner and already one of my favourite Chilli songs Did I Let You Know.

Takes a few listens to really feel it but the addition of Josh Klinghoffer has really added a fresh vibe to them. Bring on the tour!

I've been a big fan for nearly 20 years and I think it sucks. For me, there is barely a memorable song on the album. Though I reckon Brendan's Death Song is one of the best they've ever written.

mmmmm, I know what you mean, but I quite like Californication.

I like the lead single for the new album as I feel its a bit more back to basics funky stylee.

BSSM is a master piece, there are good songs on One Hot Minute, Californication and By The Way, but that's it.

I saw them at Hyde Park and when they toured Stadium Arcadium. I was expecting rompin' and a stompin' but got the sound of 4 men hitting middle age. BORING.

Anyway, where are they from, they never mention it in any of their songs?

They've become "rock lite" IMO.

well, i'll hold my hands up and admit first that i am biased, being a big long time fan of rhcp.
i'll agree, that i think b.s.s.m is to date, probably their best album, but, give the new one, "i'm with you" a good few listens, it is truly a grower. as a huge fan i was expecting a massive full on rock tune for the 1st single, and was disapointed at first. but now, love the adventures of rain dance maggie.
one thing you have to give the chilis, is they are pretty damn good live, unlike some bands/artists i could mention, they don't rely on huge sets, or gimmicks to sell there show, they could just rock up on the stage, and always give it 100%
i'm quite lucky, as i drive trucks for a living, for a company that just does tours, stuff like metallica, the stones, ac/dc, u2 etc, and i've just done a weeks promo tour for the chilis, after what i saw, am now really looking forward to the full tour

Totally. Californication had its moments but it was nowhere near BSSM, which is one of the best albums ever made IMO. Certainly past 20 years. Still I think it says a lot about current bands that RHCP still get so much attention despite being WAY past their best.

I even liked One Hot Minute. At least it comes across like it came from somewhere within them. I don't even mind Californication for the same reasons. I like BSSM but it's a little saccharin for me.

But everything since has been a commercialised essence of RHCP, and therefore dump imo. Give me the pre-BSSM stuff any day. In fact, I think anything that doesn't have Frusciante on I love.

I agree, but then if the main creative and musical talent leaves I guess we can't expect them to make a decent album.

I like it, its a strong album IMO.

The earlier stuff was excellent. I will even go so far as saying that Californication was their last good album. One Hot Minute was terrible, but By The Way was pretty decent. They have their ups and downs like Love Rollercoaster! Mothers Milk is still my favorite album because it truly let them showcase their true talent. I could listen to Flea play the bass all day long. As commercially successful as Blood Sugar Sex Magik was, I always preferred Mothers Milk. A must have for any music fan in general.
