I'm not entirely sure where to put this, so I've put it in here.

I put a blu ray on last night from a well known postal rental company and up pops a screen saying this is non for rental.

After watching the blu ray, when I took it out the machine, it has not for rental on the disc as well.

Should I just post it back or is there a way of reporting these things?

I would lodge a complaint with the rental company. You may get a free month or whatever. I can't see them being the main culprits here though. A previous renter probably kept the proper disc and stuck the non-rental copy in the return envelope hoping they wouldn't notice which of course they didn't.

Why would they do that? (unless they'd broken one and put a replacement in...)

We've had this a few times with a certain Film Loving postal rental company. Didn't think much of it until now...

I wondered about that, but it has the rental companies sticker on the centre of the disc.

Hmm, seems they do this quite a bit then.

You didn't mention the rental sticker before. In all honesty I thought you were referring to those promotional/evaluation copies as they sometimes have those not for rental/sale messages on them.

Who knows, maybe they have permission to use non-rental copies. Would they really risk massive fines or even prosecution?. Can't see them doing that, corner video shop maybe, but not a global company (part of Amazon) such as that.

Give them a call and find out, it wouldn't really bother me though.

We get them in work all the time ( a large video rental chain that isnt blockbuster) I sort of assumed it was the only printing of the film available on DVD, as the not for rental ones we get in are back catalogue films not new releases.

I will find out what the form is and report back.

Actually as far as BR goes, I dont think the print for rental versions.

Some digging reveals that some HD films don't actually have rental versions and there is a FAQ for this on said film loving companies website to cover it.

I'll chuck it back in the post and forget it.
