Headline says: "Man chokes to death on an in-flight meal... And his girlfriend is forced to sit next to his body for NINE hours"

Article says: "Mr Rippingale's body was moved to the crew rest area, where it was covered with a blanket.
But Miss Preechakul did not want to leave him. She was given permission to sit next to her boyfriend's body for the remaining nine hours of the flight."

The headline says "forced" but the body of the article contradicts this.

Rubbish journalstic standards as ever from the DM.

I look at most of the papers online - the Mail does actually do the light-hearted stories very well.

The Mail/Metro doesn't do anything well except prolefeed. They are scum who should all be shot for their crimes against journalism and integrity. After which their buildings should be burned to the ground for public toilets to be erected in their places. It sickens me how the printing press and internet, which hold such potential for democracy and enlightenment are instead used to entertain us to death, and breed outrage, ignorance and suspicion. Crap "journalism" has caused us more harm than terrorism.

The headline says "Passenger, 31, chokes to death on in-flight meal... and his girlfriend sits next to his body for NINE hours". Where's the "forced" bit? I know the DM's not popular here but making up their headlines is just what we moan about. Kettle, black of what?

What the fk did they expect the crew to do, put him in an overhead locker? Or perhaps locking him in a toilet would be more dignified.

It could be said that the problem is not the the journalists but the people who readily read the crap they spew out - after all McDonalds wouldn't be there if people didn't keep going back for more junk, same for the mainstream media.

They are not news. They are entertainment. They are only giving the punters what they want to read.

You might as well get angry at any political satire site as that's pretty much the same thing for a different audience. Nobody gets ragey at them though as it is higher brow.

exactly, it's not as if there is anywhere set aside for 'body storage' on an commercial aircraft - vs on cruise ship or surface warship ...

rumour has it the easiest wy to confirm if a submariner has died while a sub is on patrol is to see if the menu has changed to use a couple of hundred litres volume of frozen products ...

So pretty standard fare for the DM (and others).

There's currently a massive story about some kids being taken into care because they're fat. But that's not the reason they're being taken into care at all.

The level of lies that we're all fed get's ever more staggering, and the proles lap it up.

Indeed. It concerns me that honour and honesty are not traits which are celebrated these days, and nor are liars castigated.

The word 'Forced' appears to have gone from the article.

There's a difference - (most) punters think they are reading truth. (Most) can't spot the difference between fluff, opinion, and fact.

Indeed - obviously decided to repace "utter crap" reporting with just "crap" reporting.
