Bummer..

The tip of my phone charger has come off and is stuck in the cigarette lighter socket. I've tried but don't seem to be able to get it out. How do I remove the socket so I can get to it better? I've tried a few things but can't seem to get to it.

Remove the gear knob & hand brake cover. Lift the tunnel up and you can access the back of the cig ligher. Be very careful as you can blow the fuse as it will short out, I did the same! drop a wire off the back of the lighter first. The ligher is in two bits and needs to be screwed out of its hole, hold the back bit and use your finger/thumb to turn the socket part.

First things first, assuming you have the handbook, I would remove the ciggy lighter fuse. This will save you shorting anything out and blowing stuff. Once you have done that you are free to remove the offending article by whichever means you choose. Tweezers, long nose pliers, pencil with bluetack/Sellotape on the end. The choices are limitless, the fuse is the important bit.
