Question - What to buy

Alpina Roadster 3.4S
or
Z4M Roadster

What's the opinion or the pitfalls of any owners out there?
I have looked at both and both have their merits, I am leaning towards the Alpina, as It is going to be the wifes car!

Any opinions from you guys or what to look out for would be greatly appreciated!

I like both!

The Alpina would have a softer ride, duller steering feel and slightly less power than the M but a nicer interior and more exclusivity.

I say get the best bargain you can find, they're both great in their own way.

On that basis, then go for the Alpina - it's a much easier/smoother drive. Make sure you go for one with the LUX pack as this option came with a bunch of extra's sat nav, heated seats etc.

Alternatively, if it's early morning country lane hoones on your mind, then go for the M much more involving/enjoyable drive.

I've no ownership experience of either, but I'd expect the Z4M to appeal more to the driver in me, than the Alpina ...... Maybe based on the age old M=Driver & Alpina=Cruiser stereotype.

I've driven both of these and the Alpina is the one to go for if you're looking for an everyday car with more compliant suspension the Z4M is more hardcore with stiffer suspension.

Performance wise they are similar though the Z4M does have the edge in outright performance but its marginal.

Thanks for all your feedback

Having driven both, there is ultimatley not a lot of difference in performance between the two, you would only notice it in a drag race or on the track I'd say, the pulling power in the gears on the Alpina is quite something, putting your foot down in 4th at 60 is quite something, my 840 would be way behind!

I concur with all yours comments and I think for sensability and probably long term running costs it has to be the Alpina as I suspected. The road tax saving alone is worth it! Got a shock to find it was 460 for Z4M!

I think we are close to a deal on the 3.4S

Thanks again
