Basically i've got a shedload of cooking apples on a couple of trees in the garden which just stay there, fall off and end up on the compost heap.

In addition due to some slack hedge tending ive got several million blackberries which will just be lost when i cut the hedges back.

Sooooo...i thought, apple and blackberry pies.

Now while i'm quite keen on cooking and will have a dabble at most things ive never made a pie or pastry in my life!! (although im only 26!)

So how hard would said undertaking be or should i just go and buy some ready made pastry?

Quite keen to have a play to be honest though!

Ready made will certainly save you some hassle, but to be honest it's not that hard to make pastry. Do what I did... perfect the process of making pies with ready made pastry, and then once you've sussed that out, try making your own pastry.
