Hi guys,

I would like to swap over from mountain biking to road biking as the title suggests.

Do any of you know a bike shop who offer part exchanges? A national company or an indi near Sheffield. Not sure if it is actually possible, apologies if I seem naive.

I really have no inclination to sell it via EBay e.g. I would much rather just swap the bike, nice and straightforward without all the faffing around. If I have to sell it I will but as I say I would just rather swap it.

Thank you in advance.

I doubt it and even if you found a shop they would give you absolutely bugger all for it.

What is it and how much do you want?

Advertise on bikeradar, singletrack, mtbe and here obviously!

I thought it might be a long shot.

TBH I've been a bit of a muppet. I bought a Stumpjumper Comp with every intention of using it all the time. I went working away for three years and only used it a couple of times (literally) as a consequence. I have started a new job and the guys are into road biking, some competitively and I would like to join them but the bike I want Specialized Secteur Elite Apex 20 '11 (£850 at the Edinburgh Bike Coop) is tad out of my reach without selling (or exchanging) the Stumpjumper Comp.

Not sure how much it will be worth? It is brand new (I suppose) as far as condition is concerned but obviously not a new model. So I guess I need someone who wants a bike in excellent condition but is not bothered about the latest model?

You might be surprised who'd be interested in a hardly used Stumpjumper albeit a few years old. Get it advertised here with full spec and bump the post.

have a look in the usual places; Ebay, Bike Radar, Single Track. You can look at previously sold on Ebay to get a good idea of price.

You will sell a stumpy without even blinking, very popular.
