Can somebody explain what happened?

This morning I was just about to get on my motorbike and I blacked out, the next thing I remember is being treated in an ambulance while being rushed to hospital. Apparently I was unconscious and ever since that happened I've had a few memory problems, I have got a load of scans in a few weeks but even they don't know what happened?

I had something similar but only affects you if you are early 20s.

From experience, DVLA might be interested

My Father had some memory problems, which were diagnosed as Global Transient Amnesia.

One bright Doc decided to make a name for himself by claiming it was Global Epileptic Amnesia, which means 12 months driving ban.

You're required to tell them. Might be an idea to stop driving until you get the results. That way, if there's no problem, they won't suspend your licence. If they do suspend it and there's no problem, it will take ages to get it reinstated.

Whatever you do, I'd stop driving until you know what the problem is.

You'll probably find the medics have told the DVLA already, of course.

The medics do not notify the DVLA. For safety reasons it would be unwise to drive or perform other tasks that could prove hazardous if you pass out again.

At some point a doctor may advise you not to drive. At that point you must notify DVLA.

Yeah I've stopped driving until I know it can be controlled or It's sorted. As for the metallic taste I can't remember much, that's part of the problem, I can only remember asking my dad where my bike key was, that's literally it

They said it definatly wasn't low blood sugar, they did some kind of test for it, but thanks for the link, my dad did suggest epilepsy

Docs won't tell DVLA and personally I wouldn't until you know what's going on.Probably something quite simple,so don't worry.Certainly wouldn't go out on a bike.

I think the first is a lucky escape, what if next time not so lucky?

If You can avoid using Your bike I would, better safe then sorry.

To be perfectly honest, we probably shouldn't be guessing. All it's going to do is panic you until the tests come back (And if they're with the NHS, that could be some time )
