Power Over Ethernet
Discussion
Anyone have any experience with this for using it around the house? I know it's a computing/internet standard, but I was wondering if it would be possible to use this for powering LED lights etc around the house, or for other devices.
The thought occurred to me when looking at an LED tablelamp we've got for the kids room, which comes with a wall charger. The charger does get warm so it must be using up a bit of energy that is getting wasted, and if we were able to 'centralise' the power from one POE supply device it might enable us to power multiple fittings.
Also do other devices work off POE?
