Hi all

I replaced the interior bulb on the Tam on saturday but managed to blow the 20amp fuse (don't ask!!)which obviuosly runs the int. light/boot sol/power point and few other items. I replaced it and all was well with the world. I then tried triggering the boot lock and it wouldn't have it.then it did then didn't and basically it became very intermittent. and now doesn't work at all.

I'm assuming that its knackered now... next question where's it located/where do I get a replacement one from? TBH its been a little hit and miss from buying the car. whats avialability like?? as I don't want to be gaining access via the *secret method!! Is its TVR specialist part or is it a ford etc ??

Thanks

Try unplugging/connecting the Passenger side door ECU (you know where this is yes?) this will actuate the solenoid for the boot and open it unless its knackered or the fuse has gone again. If it opens it may not the solenoid but the micro-switch under the boot badge that needs re-positioning/packing so it works consistently. It could also be the ECU but I would say not if the PS door is working as it should

Look where the boot lamp is, there are two small 8mm nuts that hold the badge/back plate/switch in place. Remove these with care otherwise they fall into the recess you can't get to! them follow your nose with tinkering with it to make it work.

I use the factory 2p coin trick to pack the assembly out so the switch works correctly (see below for pic).

Power sell the new bits if you need them

Thanks for that Andy IIRC the ECU is it under the left foot well behind the carpet?

I'll give that a go and report back.

Morning Chaps

I managed to sort out the boot release issue after going thro' the various suggests routes & it turned out to be a faulty/broken cable (power supply side) to the Ford solenoid, once I'd soldered and shrink wrapped it and connected it back up all is now happy in Buzzworld.

Once again thanks Andy bowclap
