Delivery Times New Tuscan 2 Convert

I placed my order at the motor show for the new Tuscan Convert, Sept was offered as a reasonable delivery month, I've now be told that TVR do not have a mould made yet to produce this car and that delivery will be sometime early next year. While I accept a certain amount of lead time on a new model this seems a bit excessive even for TVR. I very much doubt this will stop me proceeding with my order, but it its the kind of thing which tarnishes their reputation. Surely TVR must have known the proper lead time on this car.
Any other info would be welcomed.

Standard for TVR AFAIK...

Same happened with the Sagaris at MP03, Orders were taken, even though the final wind tunnel assessment had not been finished, therefore body panel moulds were also not ready...

I'm sure someone posted that there were a number of aerodynamic and safety test to be conducted on the Tucs S Conv... Maybe the results or timeplan for these have extended their delivery time...

Look on the bright side, at least the car will have been tested properly prior to manufacture..

Its usual for manufacturers to release or launch new cars at motor shows, it just depends on who it is and who makes the promises...

We also ordered at the motor show and were advised that delivery would realisticaly be early 2005. Don't know who you ordered your car with, but the dealer that advised the lead time is responsible for misleading you not TVR IMHO....unless of course you ordered direct from the factory.

Agree with daftlad, at the motor show I was told that delivery would be early 2005 at the earliest!

Ordered the a Tuscan S Convertible at the show and my order form clearly states delivery early 2005!

It was my dealer who quoted the delivery time. I'm taking it up with them today. I have no prob waiting, having fun in my 350t at the moment, the extended lead time however may impact on my purchase agreement regarding my part ex.

Thinking about ice titanium with maybe mulbery or saddle interior.Was tempted to stay with halcyon Midas but fancy a change, don't know how it would look. Like you say we do have a while to decide.

Seen a Cerb in Grigorio Silver (similar to the iced titanium) with full Mulberry Hide. Would like nice with the reddish colur hood and darker wheels.

I was also told, by Gorners, that the cars would be in the dealers and available for test driving early 2005, with probable delivery dates spring onwards.

Long lead times, TVR don't have this one all to themselves it seems. MFI do a nice line in beds then, time you get delivery it may as well be your death bed.
