Electric Roof +/- boot release?

Thought I'd read it all until I saw the suggestion that gull-wing doors could be fitted to a Cerbie. Good luck...

Another extreme question. Does anyone know of a company that does roof mods and conversions? I'd be interested to see if there could be a powered roof conversion for the Chim - folding edges or something....? Sound fun and extremely cash-limiting, but what the hell. My shoulders would pay for it (they already have).

Also, and slightly more realistically, what's the best way to get the remote boot release thingy going? I have a 2000 Chim and the thought of wiring a magnetic release into the alarm system is a little worrying. Anyone done it or something similar?

The mod wide boot release is great. It does not wire into the alarm, but uses a micro switch attached to the passenger door locking mechanism to detect that the door is unlocked. Therefore the boot release will only work when the car is unlocked. Fitting is fairly straight forward, although I did have to modify the way the micro switch fitted to make things work, possibly due to differences in the assembly in Griffs over the years?

Thanks for that. I could never get David's aerial to work better than the current one and I'm a little nervous - the scars on my knuckles have only just healed...

Since posting I've had a thought, though - perhaps a Tuscan boot release could be modified? Does anyone know about how they are (a) wired, and (b) fixed?

I got the boot release hooked up to the alarm plipper. One push and the boot opens. No fuss nor trauma.

The tuscan/cerbera badge push button requires some additional wiring to provide a protected live voltage to power up the solenoid. Need to be careful otherwise all you will do is provide easy entry. The badge is a bit tricky to mount and ensure that it is waterproof. Nothing that can't be sorted out.

How did you get it wired to the blipper? That would be just about perfect. Do I need a new one or can I perhaps utilise the long-hold option?

I've just got the all-in-1 key/alarm fob thingy, so it'd be a shame to have to change it.
