I have a 2001 omega seamaster auto, but love the look of the orange planet ocean. What is the best value way of doing this.. Peter jackson offered me 600 nicker off the full price which seems rather expensive as I'd have to put £1700 towards the new one.
Having a quick scooch on ebay seems to point towards the £900 mark for mine? Then getting a discounted new ocean poss 2k? or even second hand which is something I possibly could live with. the thought of fleabaying mine dosn't appeal too much.
Any ideas or recommendations would be appreciated.
thanks Noel thumbup

You're doomed!
I'm too scared to register on tz, I'd spend too much money!

I had the same dilemma, ended up picking up a 2nd hand orange po from TZ a few weeks ago (still in warranty and looked like new), my auto seamaster is in for a service and will be advertised on TZ as soon as it returns, so hopefully the trade up won't be too costly.

Is TZ a better place to sell than eBay? If so, why?

TZ is a much safer place to buy, sell and exchange watches; You have a combination of regular/known posters, a 'Heroes and Villians' section that highlights good and bad deals with particular members, and if the watch is a fake, someone is sure (Well, 95% of time?) to pick up on it and expose the seller!

eBay is an absolute minefield. Yes, there are reputable and decent sellers on eBay, but the many stories I have heard over the years has confirmed that I would never buy a watch over £100 on eBay ... The scare stories of listings showing a genuine watch, but a fake being delivered. Sellers posting a genuine watch to a buyer, buyer raises a PayPal dispute and sends a fake watch back. The amount of blantant fakes on there that are cleverly worded to make the watch seem as if it's genuine, but it's not! eek

I've bought and sold over TZ with no problems. I've even bought from someone in Sweden! Sure, it's not 100% safe, but it's not far off!

The problem is that you will have to make 50 posts over the space of 2 months so that people will think you're into watches.

Plus you will be treated with suspicion until you've racked up enough positive comments by buying or selling cheaper stuff.

The H&V system works both ways. wink
