Did anyone catch the Friday night comedy show a while back where Hooky was interviewed (and then interviewed JCC). If not worth a listen as a podcast.
It mentioned that he'd done a few gigs where he'd played a load of JD tracks with his son playing in the band. He'd asked the old members if they'd get involved and they'd all refused - think it was to celebrate some anniversary of the JD (IC's suicide??) - so he'd carried on regardless and really pissed them all off.
Given that, I'm surprised at this news really.
Despite being a massive JD and NO fan though, I do think their music has got progressively worse over the years.

Hooky NOT included.
I suspect they won't be playing as New Order either, as Peter's new band "Hooky and the Lawyers" will probably put a spanner in the works.
"Bad Lieutenant featuring special guest Gillian Gilbert play some New Order songs" isn't as good a headline though.

The full line-up of the band for this outing includes Stephen Morris on drums, Bernard Sumner on vocals and guitar, Gillian Gilbert on keyboard and guitar, Phil Cunningham on guitar and keyboard and Tom Chapman on bass.

ISTR that True Faith was NO's cynical pop single attempt? Successful, though.
But I like it, too. Not quite as good as Hooky's/Monaco's "What do you want from me?"
Great way to start a Monday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRhIAQAiTtY

Unfortunately it's just "Bad Lieutenant" with Gillian standing behind a keyboard a la Linda McCartney. Odd really as Bernard was happy as f
k when she left the line-up. Hooky has been royally stitched up (it is alleged).
Barney happy? I find that hard to believe to be honest, Gillian and Stephen have two kids together, one of them had/has a condition that required constant care, she opted to take a back seat to perform this duty which is where Phil Cunningham came in.
k when she left the line-up. Hooky has been royally stitched up (it is alleged).Would Barney revell in that?? Doubt it.
Gillian was quite integral to extending the electronic sound of New Order in the early eighties along with Arthur Baker and not just a 'Linda McCartney'
