They are available for Museum members periodically. They have a few other planes such as a C47 also.

Amazing! Never seen a video of one flying from the inside. Horrendous to think of how many young men died in them! Beautiful engine sound though, and you can imagine a group of adventurous 18year old pilots whizzing through those preflight checklists in 30seconds!

Lucky guy to have been in one.

The nose gunner basically had to crawl under the pilot's feet to get to station. They told me that some tail gunners used to fly with no glass because they reflections made it impossible to aim. Hard to imagine sitting out in the open, even if you are insulated.........

sounds pretty good - looking on the website, for under £2000 you could potentially get a hour long flight in a Lancaster?? That sounds like a bargain to me even if I can't afford it.............yet!

quite fancy getting a basic membership anyway.....help support the upkeep of these historic aircraft and good excuse to go to Canada and spend the day looking around the museum....just need to think of a way to convince the missus it is better than a beach somewhere! ha ha ha ha

Hi John!....what is not apparent in the vid is that the noise is absolutely deafening. I had industrial ear protectors and I needed them every minute.

they were not big on sound insulation and H&S back then i guess!!
