Hi All, bit of a problem!

So I need to replace the shower in the bathroom as the tray has fractured (10 years old) and I can not get a tray of the same dimensions anywhere to replace just the tray (its a 900 x 900 pentangle tray but the short sides are 480mm, not the seemingly now standard 400mm).

The problem is that I have 1830mm headroom for the whole thing (tray and enclosure) and back 10 years ago I was very lucky to find a 1825mm high kit from B&Q of all places so it went straight in.

Now ten years on it seems all enclosures are 1850mm plus except for one that is sold by "diamond bathrooms" / "bathroom accessories shop" which would be perfect at 1750mm apart from the fact that diamond bathrooms seem to be out of business (their phone simply cuts off on dialing).

I am now trawling the internet for any Quadrant or Pentangle shower enclosure that is reduced height, but cant find a thing - going bespoke seems incredibly expensive!

Anyone got any ideas or experience - I am contemplating a 1800mm one (found one at that height) and trying to make a wetroom floor or something underneath.

Many thanks in advance,

Matt

Does your current shower tray sit on a plinth or the floor? If it's 4" up on a plinth, can you floor mount the new one? You'd have to be able to get the waste away which is quite often possible on the ground floor if the floors aren't concrete.

Its thoroughly on the floor (concrete) I am afraid which I had to cut through to fit the waste... total height from concrete floor to ceiling beam is 1830mm :/

Budget?

Our local glass manufacturer makes bespoke units, including all necesary seals, hinges etc

Or have you tried a builders merchant? Travis perkins were very helpful when I had to find an odd sized door!

There are suppliers who will make special sizes without a huge surcharge. I would search for Simpsons enclosures. They offer a MTM height service for a fixed cost on most of their shower ranges (from the top of my head I think it's about £195 on top of the price of the enclosure to have it reduced to any height (within reason!)

If you get stuck pm me and we can put you in contact with them, or supply one for you.

Cheers
Ian

Hi,

Budget - as little as possible as I am really just trying to replace a broken tray - about £5-600 max really.

Builders merchants, yep, tried Bradfords, TP and Screwfix too.

THanks for the thoughts smile
