An ACT CF triple TB plenum to top off my new NA engine rebuild
So, which of you girls with the SC/NoS/turbo driven toys will be at the drag thingy on the 1st/2nd October
(throws down gauntlet with theatrical flourish)
Just be careful when starting the new engine up for the first time - start it with plenty of throttle otherwise if it backfires through the induction with not much throttle it blows the CF induction to bits.

You will at first then you will get the blokey competitive bug
that's what I'm worried about - that nasty bug might leave my car hospitalised ! Even waiting to be trailered home would seriously piss me off.
I've even thought about biting the bullet and spending the £2k on the CTS/quaiffe bits but the lead time is too long, plus Jamie's off to Spa at the end of the month.
Confident that the standard driveline will cope with spirited road driving, but dumping the clutch and mashing through the gears at full throttle is asking for trouble.
Plan to take a leaf out of Uncle Bulgaria's VMax book - nice and relaxed, ride the torque from 1200rpm, nothing dramatic.
Added pressure of first event too - nice !

Your all mouth Jammy backing out at the end..The Cosworth 500 runs the same gearbox so can`t see the problem...Im turning up with Gaz nickel shock absorbers and limp springs and still up for it..When Accelerating i don`t have any steering and the back end sinks..I've even thought about biting the bullet and spending the £2k on the CTS/quaiffe bits but the lead time is too long, plus Jamie's off to Spa at the end of the month.

Is that the cosworth that was designed to run around 220bhp and similar torque. Im pretty sure its not the cosworth T5 box anyway as I had one off a cossy and it looked different. Im sure its an american sourced one, im sure one of the boffins can jump in

If it goes bang so be it thats my attitude, especially now its coming to the end of summer, what summer you say

no, no, i really plan to be there - bought the helmet as you know. Wife even let me put it in the calendar.
Just an expensive risk to take if the driveline doesn't survive, that's all...
And inconvenient - the car's been off the road since July 5th as it is
And noone likes to make a tit of themself in front of a crowd

I'm expecting to be there but now bricking it on behalf of my transmission/driveline....
will be treating it as a gentle run out
Making excuses on the day is one thing Linley, making them over three weeks in advance is, er, well, the word 'pussy' springs to mind will be treating it as a gentle run out

ETA: Barkychoc, thanks for the advice mate...

if you think i'm going to rise to that, you're absolutely right !

can't see myself being rash enough to give it 100%, but at the same time I don't want to show up the car with a b
ks time. We'll see what I can comfortably extract from it as follows : Tyre pressures 23psi. Bad brakes, over firm suspension. Geo way off, Be interesting to see how it does in those circs. (all of that will be rectified in October when the big wheels show up, we fit the AP6600s, Steve G on the suspension etc.)
