Italy, a bit different

How does this sound?
Getting married on my football tour(!) in Itlay beginning of October, am driving there and thought this route would work:

Calais to Baden-Baden, Germany
Baden-Baden via Fluela Pass to Lake Garda
Lake Garda to wedding in Citta di Castello

Questions are - is the Fluela one of the better passes, and what's the chance of it being open then?

IS Baden-Baden a good stop over? Was hoping to use a derestricted autobahn on the way and perhaps some goos roads in the Black Forest?

Any suggestions most welcome!

Indeed the Fluela pass is a great drive all the better when taken in with the whole of the Andermatt loop

Ask to be taken to the Steakhouse at the top of the hill, they run you up and drop you back, fabulous steaks
