how to remove wiper arm

daft question but how do you get wiper arm are off.
main motorized arm the cap tilts to expose the nut but the idle arm the cap doesnt tilt.. is it pressed into a resess? with a nut underneath?

The hexagonal section below the arm has to be undone from the car body. The hex section does not remove from the arm.

hi Steve... is that the tall hex or the small hex just under the arm?

all the build photos i see the hex sticking out of body with a thred section sticking out of it...

It may become a 2 man job unless my memory is very bad. It is a bolt through the bodywork the thin nut us the nut which tightens against the body work. The long hex piece screws into the thread sticking through the nut. I had problems with the hex piece coming undone when the wiper was running and thrashing about all over the windscreen. Locktite solved that one. Somebody may need to get under dash to hold the bolt head.

thanks guys sorted.. undid the tall hex and it came off.. luckly the bolt all the way through already tight..

Off to the grinding wheel now to shorten the arms a few inches..
