Its either a 1.8t 4x4 thats been modified to look like a VRS or a VRS with a lying tt.

looks like just an normal vRS but the buyer knows nothing. Why are the front/rear bumper strips so light in colour compared to the side ones? seems abit odd. It's as if he was about to colour-code them, but they're still in primer (or have the wrong colour)

Thats a normal Vrs. The 4x4 ones had a higher ground clearance.

More chinny-reckon than Jimmy Hill.

There were some 4x4 vRS Octavias, but that isn't one of them. I think they were all white?

Really? Tell us more, I've never heard of a vRS Octavia with 4WD (unless you mean some not for sale prototype or an aftermarket mash-up)...

I didn't know there was a 4x4 VRs! I knew of the 4x4 1.8t but not a Vrs variant

Under 'item specifics' it lists the engine size as 2000cc...should be 1800? I did try and read the advert for a mention of an overbore/engine transplant but gave up.

They're not 2000cc either.

No, there wasn't, sorry.

There was an 'Octavia WRC' special edition.. in white, which was basically a limited edition version of the vRS (with extras) but this was still only FWD.

There was never a 4x4 Octavia in vRS or WRC spec. There was a 4x4 in Elegance spec which was available in both estate and hatchback.

Yep. The seller is clearly a spaz.

On eBay you should always start with that assumption, especially when looking for cars. That way you can only ever be pleasantly surprised when you find the occasional well written, factual listing.

Yeah, for the current bid of £5.50 it's worth a punt but I'd be a bit wary of that. High mileage in a modified engine sold by someone who doesn't seem too sure what it is, what could possibly go wrong?
