Another what car thread I'm afraid.

I currently have a daily snotter and a Evo for the weekends. I'm looking at moving to one car for the next year or 2, while I save up for something like a Exige. I really like the Brera, and I am struggling to find something similar to it for £10k. It's a diesel too. Although it doesn't have to be a diesel, but fuel economy has to be taken into account as it will be my daily car. I quite like the Civic Type R too.

All advice appreciated.

Edited to add- can someone suggest alternatives please?

Here is my list so far-
Alfa Brera
Alfa GT (looked at a blackline today)
Honda Civic Type R

Budget is 9-11K

They look good but the bloke at work who had one didn't rate his (petrol) as a driver...

I looked at these a while back. there very slow. If I remember right, the 3.2 does 0-60 in 7 seconds plus. which you may find annoying if you fancy a spirited drive. there very heavy too.

I had my diesel Brera for four and a bit years and enjoyed it. It's a comfortable, relaxed GT car.
It's not a Nurburgring S-Line shake your teeth out road burner, and I would suggest all the better for it.

Watch for (un)even tyre wear, noisy steering racks, and cambelt change (expensive).

Try and get an SV with the glass roof. Makes the interior a very special place.

Economy is poor, but can be improved with a remap and DPF removal.

Thanks for the help everyone. I had a look at a Alfa GT today, I liked it. Tomorrow I'm off to look at a Civic Type R. There isn't a Brera local to me at the moment.

If you kept the "daily snotter" and sold the Evo you'd be closer to saving up enough for an exige than if you sold both cars and bought a Brera. Just a thought.

That is something that I have considered, however, the snotter is at deaths door. I start a new job on monday and I have to get something reliable. If I'm VERY lucky, I will get 12.5k for the Evo, which is still a good 7-9k off the Exige.
