I'm replacing the Power Steering Unit on the 51 plate Fiesta Zetec SE. Following the Haynes Manual it shows/says to get at the high pressure pipe work from underneath the PS unit.. But the pipework on my unit is accessed from above and to the side of it, next to the bulkhead.

It also says I need to remove the PS unit bracket before I can then remove the unit. Plus, that I have to remove the pulley too, before I can remove the unit from the bracket. I've got a new PS unit from a breakers, and didn't think I'd need to buy a pulley extraction tool too as I'm replacing the whole unit. Not just the pulley.

As the Haynes manual appears to be incorrect on where my PS pipe work is located, is it still correct that I need to remove the bracket, before i can remove the unit? And do i need to remove the pulley before i can remove the unit from the bracket too? Bearing in mind I'm replacing the old PS unit, with a new one (breakers yard) with the pulley already on it.
