Sad to say that the end may be close. A combination of low volumes and a dwindling USP. Once the 9-3 became a de facto Vectra, the writing was on the wall.
Some years ago I had a SAAB 9000 2.3T. Massive turbo. Great cruiser with tons of space. Loved it. But the 9-5 that replaced the 9000 was too ordinary and gave buyers no real reason to have one in preference to a german marque.
