I've just bought one as well, traded my MX5 for it, but just a 200 as an every day hack. Goes well on the drive with the good lady's C200K hatch. Both same colur an done letter different number plates.

And the Beemer 335 in the garage as the toy.

Thanks. smile

Private, poverty spec (heated seats, electric folding mirrors) but got her at such a good price I couldn't resist, which I won't mention for sensitivity (previous owner is on PH). Would hate to talk down prices too, now that I'm an owner, lol. wink

Welcome! a lovely car with contrasting two-tone interior, bet you grabbed a bargain esp at this time of year with it being a convertible

I can understand your sensitivity about discussing prices. The reason I asked is that I hope to be in the market for one of these fantastic cars soon and I'm just trying to gauge the market i.e. comparing asking price to selling price.

How does it compare to the two Z4M you have had?

Totally different animal, both have their merits. To be honest I've only had her a couple of days so only managed about 120 miles but first impressions are excellent. In a straight line the 55 is quicker if you look at the speedo but is so smooth that you don't realise quite how fast you're going. The M is definitely more balanced, it was sharper to respond and carried much more speed through the corners.

55 feels more gentlemanly, the interior is a nicer place to be and is much more spacious despite the overall dimensions being broadly similar. With the roof up it is very quiet with next to no road noise (just the muted burble of that glorious engine), with the roof down you really do hear how good that 5.4 V8 sounds!!

The driving experience is very different with the autobox and some might not enjoy it but I'm enjoying it if for the change alone (although a little worried I may forget how to drive a manual, lol) and around town it's so much easier and relaxing.

I've always loved the look of the Z4M's but appreciate their a little marmite, the Slk55 is a prettier car and looks far more special in the flesh IMO, however, I may have new car love syndrome and be singing a different tune in a few months; we shall see! biggrin

If you're considering both, whichever one you choose will not disappoint!! driving
