Having had to replace my R888 285-30-18 tyres on the rear of my 993 track car at the Nurburgring late last year, I went straight out on track for a good thrash.

Early this year even though I had plenty of tread on them, I had to replace them due to 50p size and shape chunks being missing around them in a uniform pattern.

When I made enquiries I was told that I should have heat cured them with a gentle run out followed by 24hours rest. Others have said this is rubbish and they must have been faulty.

Having just had a full set of A048's fitted today, and a race at Anglesey in the Track Day Trophy on Saturday, I am keen to get some good advice on the correct procedure.

Any thoughts ??

And what exactly does it entale ? Is it as simple as a run out followed by a rest period ?

Yip get em warm on a run & leave to cool overnight, pref a couple of times.

So at ring ideally 1 lap & leave overnight, or few laps on trackday at end of the day & same, or just a couple of road runs.
