Its a long shot i know, but this is the husband of a family friend. At around 8:30 on 7th September he was knocked off his bike in a hit and run accident. If you see a blue Saab ( model unknown, but might be a 95) possibly 52 / 53 plate with front end damage (Saab logo, front bumper and front grill fell off) in The Ascot / Backnell area please make a note of the registration number and PM me through here.

ETA:
The accident was on the London Road, next to the The Forrester's Beefeater at the Swinley Road juntion

Will keep an eye out. I take it you have notified the police (as you didn't mention it)?

May be worth contacting local SAAB garages parts dept and asking if they can let you know if anyone buys the relevant bits. Also DCA in Upper Beenham, the guy over at Rotherfield Peppard and Car Servicing in Wokingham who do SAABs - long shot I know but anything to help nick a hit-and-run driver.
HTH and he recovers quickly.
Cheers, Pewe.

Update

Spoke to Nicky tonight
He is home and comfortable, very lucky by the sound of it.
Bike is a write off.

Keeping them peeled for the damaged Saab.

Sorry to hear that Dave and hope your buddy is on the mend? Not typical of your usual SAAB driver I have to say! We're normally a thoroughly reputable bunch and never deviate from the law wink
To add a little levity to this thread, I did have a double take at the picture above as at first, I thought I spotted a protusion from the goinal area
