Cable on window regulator snaps after only 3 years, and out of warranty.

then after 2 hours of stripping down the door this morning, glass removed the lot!

I then realise ive bought a LH reg, not a RH!

And to top it off its now pissing it down with fking rain, so my interior is getting soaked as i have no fking window.

so what is next?

Why does everything i do go wrong?

Simple steps.

Watch. measure. Understand. Step back. Measure again. Observe more. Understand more. Buy. Fit.

Job. Jobed.

HTH

As for the rain coming in. if nothing else, clingfilm will work. even in the wet. Wrap the door up.

Make sure it's an empty one though.

^ if only it were that simple.

i think i will refit the old reg, fit glass, and wedge it back up.

and im far too ham fisted to make a bin bag fit over a door lol

but its stopped raining now and the sun has come out, so by the time ive finished my coffee it will be pissing it down again!

You can also use rubbers (as in pencil erasers) cut into wedges and jammed in between the glass and door to help keep them in place. Worked wonders for my old Golf when the window fell in and tape wouldn't hold it.

Could be worse. You could have just found out your alternator is knackered, then when opening the bonnet to get it sorted the bonnet release cable breaks! Oh no sorry, that happened to me...

It's a regulator on a window, what's the big deal. Do you have anger management "issues".

Who bought the wrong part???
