The new 'uninsured cars must be SORNed' law

..So I'm having issues sorting out my car insurance in time for renewal due to immobilisers, and basically insurance companies being complete crap.

Anyway, if I were to SORN it for a few weeks whilst I sort it, how much money am I going to lose on the old trade in my tax disc and re-buy it back issue? The tax is 12months from 31st July, do they refund to the nearest month (rounding down of course) or is it like insurance companies where they stitch you up after so many months with the refund?

You get a refund on every complete month left on the disk.
