Cats. Who'd have 'em!? :-(

I'm sure this isn't the worse feline-inflicted injury PHers have had...?

I get scratches like that on an almost weekly basis (though usually on my arms!) due to my job...and because I'm one of the only nurses daft enough to hold the aggressive cats!

Will be sore for a day or so.

I don't mind about the pain, I had to wear a V neck dress the next day for a work "do" and I looked like I'd been mauled!

I've got a lovely mark on my leg from when they used to climb (or attempt to) up my bare legs as kittens!

Tell me about it!

I always have some sort of scratch on me from my cats, although one of them took the ticket for inflicting injury but not on me. He was at the vet for his regular booster, and well, he doesn't really like being held. He lashed out really badly at the vet despite us warning her about his tendencies, and hooked himself onto her. She walked out the consultation room to get help... with my moggy stuck on her hip.

To be fair to him we nearly lost him to FLUTD when he was only a year old and after he was basically rewired down below to be like a female he has been very selective about being handled. Shame, because it never bothered him before.

Can't see them very well now but I have lovely scars on my wrist, three neat puncture wounds, two at the bottom and one at the top. That cost me one hell of a needle !! Oh, and this was over 25 years ago and I still have the scar.

The worst I had was when I was rearranging my lounge and was moving a "cat tree" as part of that and Simba (7kg abyssinian male cat), who is naturally curious about any change in environment, decided to jump up on to it while I was moving it and he lost his footing as he jumped up and slipped and managed to use my finger to slow his descent...

So I had most of a cat's weight going through one of his claws curving into the end of my little finger. He was basically hanging off my finger frown. He was then panicking and I had to try unhook his claw from me! Not much fun.

He'd ripped a tear about 6mm long and a few mm deep (it was a rip, not a cut) - didn't think it was quite bad enough to need a trip to AE mind you, so I went for lots of flushing with antiseptic and kept a close eye on the healing.

My clumsy dog head butted me when we were playing a few months back and hit me smack on the nose. No blood but had a swollen face for a couple of days and my nose would click every time I touched it for about the next month.
Also when in an excitable mood she has done a full on run at me 15mph+ and thrown her whole weight via 2 front paws to my mansack. That put me on the floor for a min or 2.
pets who would have em eh.

Oh if we are adding dogs, I've had my 11 stone Newfie use my foot as a launchpad. After about 3 months of limping I went to hospital and got it X-rayed - badly bruised all the bits and bobs in my foot by all accounts, took another couple of months to heal.

1st one was a dog's claws. She was having her bum squeezed at the time. I have since cut her claws...

2nd one was from a long line. Dog got spooked and ran off. Was going full pelt by the time he hit the end of the line. Line was wrapped around my finger and resulted in a spiral fracture. Just as well he's only 17kgs!
