Made no difference to my quote with Adrian Flux, neither did any other non or minor power effecting mods.

Having my standard wheels refurbished in a different colour affected my insurance.

Made no difference, they just said I wouldn't be covered for their value if the car was nicked/written off/etc.

I reckon it depends on which insurers your going through. most likely any of them that you find on 'go compare' and the such like will add an extornate amount to your premium because you are now considered worse scum than murderers and rapists! Well that's what happened when Admiral got told this when the missus phoned round for quotes (having been with admiral beforehand before she changed her car mid way through.)

Most 'specialist' insurers should allow things like this and actually may put you in a 'enthuiasts' policy that's what brentacre and MSM did with me. Just had to send them a upto date photo of the car proving they were on them.

My insurer (eSure) added £70-odd for going from the standard 18's to 19".

I needed two front tyres but they were going to cost approximately £300 so a quick look around the classifieds I found a whole set of wheels and good quality tyres with reasonable tread (manufacturer standard wheels but an optional extra the previous owner did not check ) for about £250. In the interest of being honest, even knowing that should I need to make a claim the assessor would have to have pretty extensive knowledge of the car to know they were not an extra checked on my model, I thought it was best not to give them wriggle room come payout time so phoned the insurance company who wanted £50 plus £30 admin. Mickey take. So I booked it into the tyre center.

No difference for me but I am with Greenlight and they only insure performance and modified cars.
