Eterniti Motors Hemera Revealed

They say it's the world's first super-SUV, we say 'is it really'?

Fledgling Brit car maker Eterniti has revealed the first images of its first car - the Hemera. It is, they claim, the world's first SUV, with a top speed 'in excess of' 180mph and 620bhp on tap.

We say: this looks suspiciously like a snazzed-up Porsche Cayenne, and we would politely argue with the assertion that this is therefore the world's first 'super-SUV'. After all, fast Cayennes are nothing new...

Be that as it may, we are also once again reminded, courtesy of Eterniti's press release, that "The Hemera...will bring new levels of luxury and performance to the SUV segment when production starts in 2012. Hand-built in London, it will feature a limousine-like rear cabin, including twin electric reclining seats, iPads and a drinks chiller, giving customers the option of being chauffeured as well as driving."

Nice. We're not sure why an iPad and a drinks chiller are a requirement if somebody other than the owner drives the car, but there you go...

Ah, wonderful. So creative. To take a Porsche and restyle it to look like a SEAT Leon, before throwing out the interior and fitting one of questionable taste all of their own.

Where do I sign?

I can only think this is the solution to some arab or oligarchs enquiry for a 4x4 stating that the Porsche Cayenne turbo is too slow, the Range Rovers are not luxerious enough, and both are far too cheap and common!

If not Im stumped as to why anyone would invest and engineer such a pointless vehicle.

I was hoping for so much more with this car, unfortunately it is just a Cayenne with a bodykit.

My thoughts exactly when I opened up the article - odd choice!

Are Porsche willing conspirators to this?

Or are unsuspecting Cayennes being purchased and then taken to the chop shop?

If Porsche are directly involved, they should run away and deny all ties right now.

I read hemeroids. Whichever you read, its not a good name for a car, or anything really.

Apparently there is a gap in the market for this thing.

Why? It's not as if it is (or indeed could possibly be) any uglier than the standard Cayenne.

Have you seen the Infiniti website? There's no way Porsche are involved.

The cars may be "made" (read: modified) here in the UK but the company funding it (Gruppem Investments PLC) is a Chinese operation most likely out to cash in on the "made in London" moniker to shift cars.
