I'd go with some Van Damme Blue Studio Speaker Cable, if it's good enough for studios it's good enough for your garage!

always makes me laugh when I see the price of 'audiophile' speaker and interconnect cables, I worked in broadcasting for many years including the beeb and the speaker cable of choice was often 2-core mains cable

I used to use mains wiring - is it OK to use, sound quality wise?
