For ages my Chim 400 has had a bit of a flat spot at just below 3000rpm. My local mechanic has found that the vacuum advance on the distributor isn't working but everything else seems fine.
Does anyone know if this is likely to be the cause before I splash out on a new vacuum unit?
Thanks in advance

Check the pipe very carefully for splits before you condemn the vac unit.

Pipe = £1.00

Vac advance unit = £50.00

It would be annoying if you bought a new vac unit only to find it was a split in £1.00 pipe.

When you do the suck test take the dizzy cap & plastic cover off, you need to see the dizzy base plate move when you suck.
