I dont know what year/shape you are looking for or if all models are the same? I spoke with one of the breakers and they wanted £50 for a pair. I only need the drivers side and thought, wrongly, that it is possible to get these new. If you can, I couldnt find where!

Perhaps we should split a pair?

I've tried search to no avail, but given what they look like (very much mass produced) I'd be surprised if they were TVR-specific? I thought I read 'Peugeot 205' somewhere but can't seem to find it on any of the alternative parts lists anymore - does that ring any bells?

To be honest, if their from a 205 pug you might be able to get one for peanuts or nothing, will be easier to get hold of as well, will bare it in mind though if I cant get a 205 visor smile

The alternative parts list on chimaerapages.com lists them as being TVR-specific.

Sounds like we need a job lot. The visor on the passenger side of my car is now drooping and wont stay up. Seems like it is broken inside.

I repaired mine by removing one side, put some tape around the rod and refitted. (silicone on the screw through the windscreen frame).

Took 5 minutes and has been fine since.

Hi
I'm also after a replacement passenger visor. There is pug 205 in the unit, the visor seem to be different? Any other suggestions of which donor car they are from?

Cheers

Add me to the list of those looking for a passenger-side Chimaera sun visor. Mine too is broken inside, so the "remove the rod, tape up and replace" fix doesn't work.

D*mn... frown

The plastic part around the rod was broken on one side on the passenger side visor of my car, too, last weekend I managed to remodel a metal 'loop' clamp that is used for bolting cables to car bodies (with a rubber part insidie) to fit around it and persuaded it to hold the rod tightly enough with liberal use of a vice and mole grips... Visor was still kind of droopy afterwards (but not nearly as bad as it was) so I taped the rod on the other end. So far, it has held up. smile

The plastic past that fits around the rod is a royal b*gger to get to, though. It fits around a piece of wire on the underside and is held with a small metal clamp that cuts into the material. I got mine out OK because the outside skin of the visor had a small split in it where the rod enters the visor, anyway.

Just a thought here.........
I've done without sun visors on cars previously by fitting a graduated sun-stripe onto the top of the screen. It's surprising just how well that works and for me made the sun visor redundant.

I have been told by a TVR engineer that they are TVR specific and are about as common as hen's teeth frown guess anyone needing one will just have to ask around TVR workshops to see if they have any lying around
