E class warning light help, please.

As I have an E class a friend asked me about a warning on his.
He has a petrol E220 K 2001 I think.
On the dash he had a yellow engine light come on.
It now comes on more frequently, especially when pulling away.
There is no oil leak, and the car drives fine.
The owners manual, apparently isn't much help.
Any ideas ?

Is it the traction control light?? Doed it blink and then go off when pulling away hard?

If it is, exterminate your friend before he breeds.
