Passing another year today (getting champers and bacon nutties in bed to start - result).
I never expect any gift a cards nice likewise a lively meal does ne plenty thanks.
However this morning the wife said I think we should get you a nice watch!!!

Now ive not yet asked what nice means ie £50/-200 or £1k-3k etc.
So could you give me a sensible list both ranges which I could have a look at in advance. I like platinum /silver look and heavy watches.
Sorry for being vague. But thanks. Hopefully it's an easy suggestion but I've not looked at watches for many many years but I do remember Raymond Weir being rather nice.

What's a birthday wife?

Do you hire them by the hour or the full day?

£50 - £200 Seiko SKX007

£1k - £3k I'd probably try and stretch it a bit and go for a Rolex SD, but if not how about a Planet Ocean 45.5mm?

For £3k I would get something less common than a Planet Ocean - but that is just me.

There are literally thousands of watches out there - and the most fun way to find one is to head to a decent watch seller.

I got the impression the OP isn't particularly into watches and was suggesting ones that are typically seen as nice. Heading to a decent watch seller is a good idea.

(I don't have a PO and my recent £3k watch purchase was a Seiko 600m SD, but I doubt many people would see that as a typically nice watch)

Seiko Monster

Omega SMP 300

Given the two budget choices and assuming, as is usually the case with 'special' B'day watches, that you won't want to go pre-owned.

I seriously doubt you'll be able to find an original 'Dragon Diver' with brushed centre links on a President bracelet.

One came up at auction in Geneva last year ago IIRC.
