Our chimney is buggered due to wasps and bees fking with the mortar, we now have scaffolding up to repair said chimney but how do we get rid of the little sods? They are about 2m down from the pots so I can't see the nest.

Chimney is no longer active so smoking them out not an option, I tried blasting with spray but ended up being chased down the ladders by a swarm of them.

Any suggestions?

You can get 'bombs' for fumigating houses, I think you light it an leave it then it disperses insect killer.

They'll all be dead within a month or two, only the new queens survive the winter.

Chimney not connected anymore, it supplied the dining room, library, and a few bedrooms where the fireplaces were removed..

So can't smoke them out

I have this mental image of the OP setting the 'bomb' off, and shouting Fire in the hol before he does it hehe

I would rather he make a mortar and lob the bomb in from the other side of the road.
