Dive watches on mesh straps
Discussion
The retro dive watch thread got me looking at Helson watches and I've found myself coveting a shark master (and the Omega it's based on) and a tortuga, also on a mesh.
What other retro divers look good on a mesh? I'd quite like this to be an everyday/holiday watch and as I do a lot of watersports, it needs to cut it as a proper diver as well.
I'm happy with the seiko kinetic diver I wear most of the time so something like that would be grand (as long as it looks nice with a mesh!).
Also, are Helson worth the asking? How are they rated by actual divers? I wouldn't dream of using a really expensive watch for watersportrts so something around the 2/300 pound mark, that's retro, functional and meshed would be perfect. What do you reckon?

Some lovely watches their people, I'm quite envious!
I've had a thought though...What about chucking my current Seiko on a mesh?
This is the one:

You reckon that would work on a mesh or is too 'chunky'? Any mesh recommendations appreciated as well - it seems to have very big main pins so I'd need something that would fit over them (or replacement ones??)...Thoughts?

I don't think a mesh will work that well.
The watch has wide lugs & needs a notched bracelet end link, or a notched strap end otherwise the bracelet / strap is going to look too narrow for the watch head.
Mesh bracelets usually need quite thin spring bars, which would almost certainly rattle around in the lug holes.

I suspect you're right and that I'm thinking wihfully The watch has wide lugs & needs a notched bracelet end link, or a notched strap end otherwise the bracelet / strap is going to look too narrow for the watch head.

I think I need to see one on the flesh. I'm not sure I could bear to buy something 'proper' like a Sharkmaster to discover I wasn't keen after a month or two...
