After a bit of soul searching, I think I may have finally been tempted away from modern oil burners as my next motor. Mainly due to the mileage I cover each year making it not that cost effective. It would take 6-7 years to break even.

Several people have advised me to keep my 51 plate Vectra I have owned for the last 5 1/2 years as I know it inside out, am the 2nd owner and it has "only" covered 91k miles.

Problem is I am hankering after something interesting now that there is a few quid in the bank.

Interesting
Fun
Mid-sized
Petrol
Circa 38-40mpg
Room for 4
Budget of 3-5k

Go for it peope of PH....fill your boots for me.

Rover 213S.

Seats five, more fun at the speed limit than my old WRX at twice the speed limit (on a track officer), easilly does 40+mpg, cheap (classic) insurance and a lot less than £3,000

E36 m3 but you might struggle with the 38-40 mpg.
