Forge motorsport action day castle combe

Went here yesterday, great too see how these events are getting bigger and more popular every day.some amazing bits of kit, a pritty dry track and many many clubs.
However i need too say somthing, and we see this at all action days. There are people on track who shouldnt be. They either think they are driving gods, are way to aggressive around other cars, pushing people out the way, in particular a middle aged man in a gold megane cup.
Secondly people who dont have a clue how to use the track, no idea of driving lines or what side or where to overtake. Namely where i was watching from camp and an orange mrk2 escort constantly ended up on the right hand side on the exit with some extreme wabbling, also an ek9 white and black civic doing the same.
Aswell as a damp session with the skoda club i viewed from camp and about four fabias that thought it was a good idea to come off throttle on the apex and were very lucky to control the slides.
Please people if you are doing these action days have some idea of how to drive your car, know the lines on the track or atleast some idea, and if you think you are a driving god, do it in your own space, dont try n force past other people.
I have been to these days for many many years, as driver and spectator and it seems to get worse, from now on im gona talk to these people and give them some advice, so if you find yourself being stopped by a randomer at castle combe next season, it may well be me having a rant.

Quite agree. I was out in the morning and the amount of people who made it difficult to overtake just because they were being overtaken by an Escort. One in particular was a Renault Megane Sport!
The other thing I noticed was a few people braking in the chicane after Quarry, in particular an MG Midget, how he didn't spin I shall never know

Quite agree, I got cut up by a Dolomite Sprint - and it wasn't even his fault! He was overtaking me quite correctly then suddenly had to pull over when he noticed a hot hatch that was coming past both of us no matter what.
And I lost count of the paople (hot hatches again) that shot past me in the braking area then held me up round the next corner because they were going no faster than I was.
I keep fantasising about putting a V12 in the MX-5. Perhaps I should actually do it, just to see the look on these peoples faces when they can't get past.
(The idiots will still try though).

I agree with what has been said. Castle Combe needs to get tough on these people, they must see whats going on.
I will stick to track days much better.
Have just booked a track day with Apex, and I like their rules on overtaking, the driver in front has to put their indicator on, to let you pass, this happens on most track days I do.

The Action day aren't for people there want to do trackday's are they? You pay for 1 session and most people in that session are beginners, probaply first time on track so give them some space or book yourself a proper trackday.
I did about 100 lap's on saturday and had no problems worth speaking about :-)

I would suggest its probably half and half, i have been going for many years and there are many many regulars at the action days that also do track days, however they like the club and event atmosphere.
Also being a begginer doesnt give you the right to drive like a tit like some were, even if you have watched motorsport or played it on a console you would, and should have some grasp of racing lines and how a car should handle.

I hear what you are saying, but letting 30 to 40 cars on to track at the same time is never going to be easy for beginners, and I have seen a lot of trackday regulars using strange lines true corners, so think its fair to give everybody space on these kind of day's.
Personaly I would never book a day like this myself for anything else than a bit of fun and take everything as it come ;-)

I drive the Forge Astra in Time Attack and was giving passenger laps to guest's of Forge Motorsport.
