What an exciting title eh?
Does anyone know anything about the red griffith 4l on the David Gerald website? It only has an interior shot and not much info
Also, any experience of said dealer?
Oh and while im here - what about the blue 4.3 from rhino ?

Hi, as for the rhino car, I know someone who was looking at it, but has now bought a Chim, and emailed me with details - sounds good -

The car has had three previous owners. The last owner had it since 1998 but
had only used it occasionally since 2000 due to family commitments.
The car is Cobalt blue which I think is a Porsche colour. The Photo's show
it well but its a bit brighter in the flesh and very similar to Viper blue.
The paintwork is in excellent condition.
The wheels are Griff 500 wheels which have just been refurbished by Spit and
Polish who are regarded as the market leaders here in the South-East. New
Bridgestone S03's were fitted last week during a service.
The interior is superb and has had lots of recent work carried out. It
features anthracite full leather which looks as good as new. The carpets
were faded and these have just been replaced (including new
soundproofing/underlay) with a genuine TVR carpet set. This includes all the
interior carpets, even the door cards.
The dashboard was removed and stripped due to a couple of cracks in the
veneer. London Carriage Craft (Ex Mulliner,Park,Ward) Re-veneered the facia
and the finish is beautiful.
As most TVR interior problems are due to water ingress, it was decided to
fit a new genuine TVR hood. This is dark blue mohair as the original and
consists of the soft top and the central hard roof cover. A storage bag for
the hard roof panel is also included.
The car was first registered in may 1992 and supplied by The TVR Centre. It
was serviced at 925
miles,4869m,9622m,17785m,25329m,36,805m,39908m,42009m,44870m, all carried
out by The TVR Centre. It has just been extensively serviced by ourselves at
48000 miles and has also had new front and rear pads and discs (worn and
corroded), Gear lever bushes (sloppy gear change action), Reverse light
switch (inoperative), Fuel tank sender unit (inoperative) and new front
wishbone thrust washers fitted (worn). The car has the later type Braced
front wishbones that improved handling.
A radio/cassette is fitted with the four speaker upgrade.
Central locking and the factory fitted alarm and immobiliser are fitted as
well as a secondary immobiliser.
A file contains all MOT's since 1996, some but not all service invoices, a
four year guarantee certificate for a battery fitted in March, a HPI
certificate showing the car clear of insurance claims or outstanding finance
as well as the owners manual and service record.
The original toolkit is also supplied."

I bought a 4.0 Chimaera from David Gerald back in Oct 01. Excellent guys, excellent car. Had a service & MOT there which were very reasonable. Amazingly helpful chaps, and pretty much heard only good things about them on PH. Give them a call. Doug is the man to speak to.

My mate and I went to David Gerald with £20k burning a hole in his pocket. I have a Griff 500 and he wanted a Chim 500.
We were made as welcome as a fart in a space suit! Absolutely awful, so much so I am never going there again and will never have any of my TVRs serviced there. They were that rude.
So don't expect an easy time!!!
Went to Offard and bought one there.

I've had 5 cars from DG's to date, used them for all the servicing and found them to be absolutley spot on...
Some folks have had the odd bad experience from them but I've spent many an hour down there while they attended to bits and pieces with my cars and I've never witnessed it.
As for the Griff, there have been a couple of monza red 4 ltr cars pass through their hands while I've known them. If the reg is j34 something or other then it's a very nice car and seemingly well looked after.
I'm sure if you'll call them they'll happily send you an exterior shot via email...
You don't fancy the yellow 355 they've got in then....
I'm trying to find an excuse to visit them this weekend just for a nosey!

I had a 400SE from DG a couple of years back and it was a top car and good service. I've also used them for spares on my Griff and have always found Doug very helpfull.
I think they must get a lot of test pilots coming round to see/try the cars with no intention to buy so I can see why sometimes it may feels like they are not interested.
They know the cars inside out so I'd doubt the red griff is a bad one. Don't be put of by the preparation of the cars in the show room, when I first looked at the wedge I had from them it was dusty and had a flat tyre and not looking it's best. After we had done a deal that included 4 new tyres, a service, MOT and valet it looked fantastic and gave me no problems in the 12 mounths I had it.
I think they must get a lot of test pilots coming round to see/try the cars with no intention to buy so I can see why sometimes it may feels like they are not interested.

Get doug to take you for a drive through the back country, you'll wet your pants
and it will also make you buy the car, as i did
promissed myself i wouldnt buy the first one i see but then it was exactly what i was after.

Oh boy is Doug quick.
I tend to do a route where you turn right on to the main road (Doug normally goes left). On that route there are a couple of sweepers which I tend to take around 70 when I'm pushing it, Doug took them at 80 when I went out in the Tuscan I went on to buy
. You never feel he's anywhere near his limit though...
Interestingly, I watch him racing and have done for a while. Last season there were two Morgans, one of which is now racing in the GT's piloted by Keith Ahlers who were streets ahead of everyone else - except Doug who pretty much split them.
The boy can certainly drive...
