Rust removing...
Discussion
Mods...Pleeeease give this 5 minutes of exposure before moving
Right, doing some fettling on the tiv and there are a few areas on the chassis i want to tidy, nothing nasty just surface rust but theres no point sticking schultz over it.
So any recommendations? Been looking at Hammerite Rust Remover (wash off) and also Hammerite Kurust which turns the rot to an inert layer that can be painted over. I've also been using up a bit of Fertan but now its all goe i need some more.
As Fertain isn't available (to my knowledge) off the shelf im looking for alternatives etc. Any suggestions welcome!
Also best places to buy from....Halfords seem a little steep...

The large salvage and reclamation specialist is correct; POR15 if applied correctly is brilliant stuff for this sort of job
ETA you can buy it from a few places online, including Frost.co.uk

If it is only surface rust then grind it out.
In my experience, this is the only way. The trouble with most liquid rust removers is they tend to remove/convert the surface of the rust very well, but this then forms a barrier, stopping the chemical getting at the rest of the rust.TallPaul said:
