Just thought I'd mention it - that's all!

Just got back from camping at the show all weekend and what an excellent weekend it was.

Were any of you there?

Agreed. Last one I went to was something in the Mendips. Can't even remember which magazine was at the helm, but I do remember the club displays had less impressive motors than in the general car parks, the arena displays were pitifully dull and most of the traders' idea of a "show special" was to not charge P&P on items being collected there and then.

I went £15 for about 3 hours of wandering about. I don't understand why they give about half an hour for the club vehicles to come into the arena and are rushing about talking to the owners for 10 seconds each, and it seems the rest of the time is taken with sheepdog displays and stunt bicycles.

It was fair I suppose. Everytime I go to Billing or Peterborough I swear its my last!

We were there for the whole weekend so could potter round at leisure, and it only cost us £26 for the whole weekend including camping for the whole family. I must admit it would probably not be great value if we'd had to shell out individually for the whole family for just a few ours. Surely the sheep racing must have been the biggest waste of time smile

Yeah | went £15 each, was not really worth it, overpriced st food that Trading Standards would have a field day with, sheep dogs, mountain bike displays if I wanted to see sheep dogs I would have gone to Crufts. As for mountain bikes I would have gone to The Outdoors Show (which by the way is cheaper, better, bigger and indoors!!) Safe to say I wont't be going next year.

The fundamental error made by the organisers of these shows is thinking that Land Rover types are day-tripping pay-to-be-entertained people.
A little market reserach would reveal most Land Rover owners would rather spend the £15 on diesel and get out there in their vehicle.

I thought the show was a bit crap this year. Fortunately I was camping with friends so the social side made up for it - I'd be very disappointed otherwise.
