Running a win 200 server with an internal network, we've just bought a laptop and I want to set up a remote access facility. The laptop has inbuilt modem and wireless networking.

Now I know that windows try and make this as easy as possible, but running the wizard on the server last night and it started talking about RADIUS servers and IP addresses to use and I bottled it ... totally .

Is there anything I should know before I run the wizards again?

And when it comes to the laptop, is it best to use its own modem, or add a "home network" connection for it to use to connect to our server here?

Any advice gratefully received.

Do you want to just access the network or access the shell of the server directly via terminal services?

I need to be able to access the server as tho I was connected into the office network, just at a remote location. Basically so that I can take the laptop home and carry on working as tho I was chained to my desk
