Bloody rust again.

2010 I had all four doors and tail gate replaced due to rust on the wife's A200cdi 2006 vintage, under mercedes warranty,I washed the car today and noticed that both rear wheel arches have started to bubble on the inner lip. Should I take this up with the mercedes body shop or log it with mercedes uk first. Im bloody fuming.
As it was not part of the original warranty claim, i can only assume that there was no sign of any corrosion on the arches when the doors and tailgate were replaced, so it shall just be treated as a 'new' warranty claim and honoured.
Have been exactly where you are in the past with my previous E55 estate, and although a real inconvience, my local MB paintshop always returned the car looking like how it came from the factory.
As long as they give you a free courtesy car for the duration, i don't see it being a big problem...try dealing with Vauxhall etc on a paintwork corrosion issue on a 2006 Vectra when you have to deal with corrosion and a refusal to remedy it...now that is what i would see as annoying!!

you have an 8 year warranty on the paintwork, and they have already honoured a previous warranty claim, so the work shall be carried out, and you will find the MB paintshop wont just do the panel in question; they shall blow it in down each side so there is no indescretion on the colour match.
like with most things, i have found that the more you build a good relationship, the better the progress is made; speak to them with a bee in your bonnet, and the process can slow dramatically!

the front wings shall be replaced; the rear quarters blasted, treated then painted.
as i said before, they shall blow it all through, so the sides shall be perfect.
on a footnote, i would check the around the tailgate handle, around the edges of the front grill on the bonnet ( inside & outside ), underside of the bonnet, and around the roofrails if you have them....take your time and look very closely...you never know what you might come across...

Worryingly both the frontwings and rear quarters where resprayed when the doors where changed. Will check the bonnet area as well tomorrow morning. I think the bonnet and front part of the roof is the only area of the car not to have been painted. I wonder if that'll change things at all? Not happy about this happening a second time...
