I had the good fortune to see him race in the Le Mans Series and to meet some of his young friends who were cheering him on.
Really sad news to hear of his death.
My condolences to his friends and family. RIP Christian.

My friend used to race against him in 96 in karts, then worked for him in f2, He is devestated. Incredibly sad loss
I know that roundabout quite well, my theory is he may have been coming from Putney to join on the A3 leaving London, it is a pretty inviting bend when the road is empty, and it does fall away from you a quite a bit.
Poor Guy, poor family : (

I can see that scenario but he'd need to be travelling at one hell of rate given that the RS6 is a quattro. Other reports say that the emergency services arrived at 6am. I suppose it could have been any number of reasons. The Stiglet said:
How did he flip it there? I often cycle that route to Richmond Park for training but it's normally very busy and there are lots of cameras.
RIP
RIP sad news.RIP
re that bit of road I drive it regularily, its a big wide 2 lane round-about (there are no cameras) if in the mood it can be taken at quite high speed, even in a fairly average car, certainly fast enough to have a big accident. A sobering thought, RIP.

I went round that roundabout at about 9am Saturday morning in my truck and saw the crash siteall taped off and road closed.
The damage to barriers suggests he was travelling away from Putney ,or possibly came off A3 London
bound ?
RIP fella.
