As I'm at the stage where I'm deciding what holes to cut in the dash, was wondering if anyone has come with a snazzy solution for incorporating a Tom Tom unit in the dash ?

Reason for wanting a stand alone Satnav is the ability to load ITN files of "hoon" routes when out with the boys wink

I have a TT710 which has a snap on type base mount.
I cut away all the unwanted bits and just built the base into the dash top.
There is not much to see when the TT is not fitted.

I wouldn't do it. If you mount it near the roof in the center behind the front roll hoop you can see it, hear it, touch it and replace it when it becomes obsolete.

Kenwood now have a multimedia unit that incorporates a Garmin SatNav, I only mention this as you can Access and download 3rd party POI files (speed cameras?) easily for this.
I know there are / have been issues with 3rd party POI's and TomTom.
